Sanken no Yado

Sanken no Yado

OVERVIEW

Guests are welcomed with a bowl of matcha at this exclusive four-room boutique ryokan, introducing its tea-inspired concept. The inn takes its name from Sanken no Cha (“Three Cups of Tea”), a famous episode of hospitality from Japan’s Sengoku (Warring States) period that is closely connected to this area.

Surrounded by the peaceful countryside of northern Nagahama, the inn offers beautifully designed rooms, seasonal kaiseki cuisine featuring local ingredients, and an intimate setting for a quiet and relaxing stay.
