Yanmar Museum
OVERVIEW
Explore Interactive Learning at the Hands-on Museum of Machines
Discover the essence of ‘Let’s Try! Exciting Future Challenge’ at the Yanmar Museum, embodying the visionary spirit of Sonkichi Yamaoka, the founder of Yanmar Co. Ltd., a corporation originating as a diesel engine manufacturer in Nagahama in 1912. This interactive museum, owned by the corporation, is dedicated to nurturing children, the future pillars of society, through engaging, hands-on learning experiences centered around observation, interaction, and immersive activities.
Delve into interactive exhibits offering virtual insights into agriculture and fishing. Take on challenges related to Yanmar’s products, made for a diversity of environments such as fields, oceans, and urban areas. Enjoy simulations ranging from boat rides to construction machinery. Additionally, the museum features a storytelling theater spotlighting Yamaoka’s adventurous spirit.
While reservations are not required, the museum does limit the number of visitors, so it’s recommended to book your tickets in advance, especially as weekends and afternoons can be busy. Please note that the reservation website is in Japanese only. The museum is closed on Mondays and during the year-end and New Year holidays.
