Bird Watching Sanctuary on the Great Lake Biwa

A bird-watching facility overlooking the adjacent Lake Biwa Waterfowl & Wetlands Park, serving as a haven for diverse wild bird species throughout the year. Visitors can observe these birds up close using field scopes and gain valuable insights into their habitats from experts at the center. In autumn and winter, migratory birds such as the Greater White-Fronted Goose, Tundra Swan, and Steller’s Sea Eagle gather here, offering visitors captivating views of Lake Biwa against a backdrop of the beautiful sunset.
