Great Lake Biwa’s Bird Watching Sanctuary

A bird-watching facility situated adjacent to the Lake Biwa Waterfowl & Wetlands Park, serving as a haven for diverse wild bird species throughout the year. Visitors can observe these birds up close using field scopes and gain valuable insights into their habitats from experts at the center. In autumn and winter, migratory birds such as the Greater White-Fronted Goose, Tundra Swan, and Steller’s Sea Eagle gather here, offering visitors captivating views of Lake Biwa against the backdrop of its beautiful sunset.
