OVERVIEW
A small fishermen’s inn overlooking Lake Biwa, with only two reservations per day. Recently renovated to provide comfortable western-style bedding rooms. The cuisine revolves around local lake fish, caught fresh by the fisherman-owner himself, including lake trout, eel, rock-dwelling catfish, crucian carp, and more. The rarity and freshness of these ingredients have attracted not only locals but also guests from urban areas.
The sunset view from the rooms is spectacular. Facing Lake Biwa, the view has been selected as one of Japan’s top 100 sunset spots. The silhouette of the floating islands and Chikubushima Island against the backdrop of the setting sun makes for a particularly poetic scene. Additionally, during winter, the sight of tundra swans migrating from Siberia floating on the lake’s surface is an exclusive sight enjoyed here only in winter. Surrounded by numerous fishing ports, the inn is a haven for fishing enthusiasts.
