Remnants of the 1583 “Battle of Shizugatake,” where Lord Hideyoshi of Nagahama was vying for power, now attract many visitors to this scenic, 421-meter-high mountain. The area offers a breathtaking panoramic view which encompasses the sacred Chikubushima Island on Lake Biwa, the tranquil Lake Yogo, and the summit of Mount Ibuki. Discover varied hiking trails showcasing the area’s scenic beauty and historical significance. Additionally, there’s a lift service to the mountain’s summit for easy access to the peak’s stunning vistas.
